About BetBuddyRank

BetBuddyRank is an independent leaderboard of tipsters on X (formerly Twitter). We take public sports picks posted before kick-off, link each pick to a specific match and grade it against the final score. For every tipster we compute the hit rate, the expected hit rate from odds and team strength, ROI and an index that accounts for how hard the picks were. The leaderboard is recalculated automatically after every results update and covers football (soccer), NFL, MLB, tennis, basketball and hockey.

In the US the same people are called cappers or handicappers, in the UK tipsters. Whatever the name, the question is the same: whose sports picks on Twitter win more often than the betting line predicts. Only verified results answer it, so every row of this capper leaderboard links to the original post and the final score.

BetBuddyRank is not affiliated with X Corp. or any sportsbook. We do not sell picks, do not use affiliate links and do not charge for a place on the leaderboard. A tipster cannot pay to rank higher or to hide losses: the position comes only from the index formula, the same for everyone.

The leaderboard, the methodology and the site copy are run by the BetBuddyRank editorial team. We publish the formulas, the limitations and the open data so that any calculation can be reproduced and every row checked against the original post and the final score.

Automatic parsing sometimes gets a team, a market or a match wrong. If you find a mistake in your own profile or in someone else’s pick, let us know. We check the report against the original post and recalculate the stats. The site uses no judgemental labels such as “scammer”: only data.
